MAJOR CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS AROUND ZAZIE

Several major cultural institutions of Paris are within reach from the Zazie Hotel.

  • The Opéra Bastille. Fifteen minutes’ walk from the hotel, you can buy tickets at the opera house’s ticket offices without booking in advance. See big lyrical productions in the Grande Salle and concerts and recitals in the Amphitheatre or Studio.
  • The Grand Palais Immersif. Installed within the Opéra Bastille in partnership with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, this new place dedicated to digital exhibitions combines audiovisual, narrative, interactive and immersive content, in an open space for wandering and exploration. Access via rue de Lyon.
  • Père Lachaise Cemetery. A national memorial site, an open-air Pantheon, a museum of funerary heritage, a haven for Parisian biodiversity, and a hilly promenade. Père Lachaise is all of these things at once. A must-see in eastern Paris. A great opportunity to visit the nearby Maison du 20e, the first “ultra-local” tourist office, to discover the crafts and curiosities of this village-like neighborhood.
  • Since 2005, the Cinémathèque Française occupies a magnificent building designed by architect Frank Gehry in the Jardins de Bercy. Cinema enthusiasts will love its museum, exhibitions and film projections.
  • The Palais de la Porte Dorée, a magnificent Art Deco complex, which houses the Immigration Museum and the Tropical Aquarium.
  • The Cartoucherie de Vincennes houses the legendary Théâtre du Soleil directed by Ariane Mnouchkine, as well as the Tempête, Aquarium and Épée de Bois theatres. A little further out but easy to access by Metro and bus.
  • And of course the Arena de Bercy with its massive concerts and events.
